How to Check Your UI Admission Status
Your admission status must be confirmed through both the official JAMB platform and the University of Ibadan’s admission portal.
Method 1: Check via the JAMB CAPS Portal (Compulsory)
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) is the only officially recognized platform for accepting or rejecting admission offers.
- Visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal
- Log In: Enter your JAMB Registration Number and Password to access your dashboard.
- Use Desktop Mode: If you are using a mobile device, switch your browser to the Desktop Site or Desktop View to see all features.
- Access CAPS: Click on ‘Check Admission Status’ and then select ‘Access my CAPS’.
- View Status: Click on the ‘Admission Status’ tab.
- If Admitted: You will see the message: “Congratulations, you have been offered Provisional Admission.”
- If Processing: If you see “Admission In Progress,” check back regularly as your name may be uploaded soon.
- Accept or Reject: If admitted, you must click on the ‘ACCEPT ADMISSION’ button immediately to finalize your slot. Failure to accept the offer within the specified timeframe can lead to its forfeiture.
Method 2: Check via the UI Admissions Portal
The University of Ibadan’s dedicated portal allows you to print your Post-UTME result and, subsequently, your admission letter.
- Visit the official UI Admissions Portal
- Log In: Use your JAMB Registration Number as your username and your Surname (in lowercase or as used during the Post-UTME registration) as your initial password.
- Navigate to the Admission Status section.
- If admitted, you will see your name, the course offered, and instructions for printing your UI Provisional Admission Letter.

Congratulations on securing your admission! To complete the process and become a fully registered UI student, follow these critical steps:
1. Accept and Print JAMB Documents
- ACCEPT the admission offer on JAMB CAPS.
- Print your Original JAMB Admission Letter from the JAMB e-Facility portal.
- Print your JAMB Result Slip.
2. Pay Acceptance Fee and School Charges
- Log in to the UI Student Portal using the credentials you will generate or be provided with (usually your Matriculation Number and a password).
- Follow the link on your dashboard to pay the mandatory Acceptance Fee.
- Proceed to pay your School Charges/Tuition as required by the university.
3. Physical and Online Clearance
- Document Preparation: Gather all original and photocopied credentials, including your O’Level results (WAEC, NECO), JAMB documents, Birth Certificate, Local Government Identification, and all payment receipts.
- Physical Screening: A schedule for physical clearance will be released by the University Registrar’s office. You must present yourself and your documents for verification.
- Course Registration: After successful physical clearance, log back into the Student Portal to complete your Course Registration (CRF) for the session.
NOTE: Candidates who are offered admission but see a different course from their initial choice (Change of Course/Programme) must accept the new programme on JAMB CAPS.
