Post-UTME Admission Requirements

To apply for Bowen University, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME): All applicants must sit for the 2025 UTME.
  • Educational Qualifications: You must have credits in at least five (5) subjects, including English Language, from SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or an equivalent examination. These credits should be obtained in no more than two sittings.
  • Specific Programmes: For Medicine and Surgery (MB; BS), Nursing Science, and Physiotherapy programmes, the five credits (including Mathematics and English) must be obtained in one sitting, and NABTEB is not accepted.
  • Awaiting Results: Candidates awaiting results may also apply.
  • Screening Exercise: All applicants must participate in the Bowen University Screening Exercise.
  • Application Forms: You need to complete the University Application forms.
  • Change of Institution: If you wish to change your choice of institution to Bowen University, you must apply for a change of institution through JAMB, complete the Bowen University Application Form, and participate in the screening exercise.

Direct Entry Requirements

For Direct Entry, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • NCE/ND: Hold NCE at credit level, ND, or approved equivalents with at least Lower Credit in relevant fields.
  • Advanced Level: Have at least two Advanced Level passes at acceptable grade levels.
  • Other Qualifications: The Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB), Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), or Cambridge Moderated School of Basic Studies at acceptable grade levels.
  • Ordinary Level Requirements: In addition to the above, candidates must also meet the Ordinary Level requirements.
  • HND Holders: May be admitted to 200 Level or 300 Level depending on departmental regulations.
  • Application through JAMB: All direct entry candidates must apply through JAMB.
