University Of Abuja Commissions 3 Key Projects To Enhance Learning, Working Environment

University of Abuja today marked a significant milestone with the official commissioning of three key projects designed to enhance the learning and working environment within the institution. These projects include the newly constructed College of Health Sciences Building, its accompanying external works and meticulously designed landscaping, and a state-of-the-art 500-capacity Lecture Theatre dedicated to the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.


Addressing a gathering of dignitaries and academic leaders at the handover ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Aisha Sani Maikudi emphasized the profound impact these projects are expected to have on the overall academic experience, stating that they will effectively address the challenges currently faced by the faculty and foster an environment conducive to both teaching and research.


Professor Maikudi, while expressing her unwavering commitment to supporting the continued growth and development of the College of Health Sciences, urged Provost Professor Ibekwe Titus Sunday and his esteemed team to diligently oversee the proper maintenance and upkeep of these valuable new facilities, ensuring their long-term sustainability and optimal utilization for the benefit of the entire university community.


The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of university officials, including Professor Phillip Afaha, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration); Mrs. Islamiyat Abdulrahim, Acting Registrar; Professor Ebele Anyaoku, University Librarian; and Madam Shiva Rae Kondoun, Bursar, alongside deans, directors of centers, and heads of departments.
