Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission into AE-FUNAI’s undergraduate programmes, you must meet the following criteria:
- UTME Score: You must have scored a minimum of 150 in the 2025 UTME. However, some programmes have higher cut-off marks.
- JAMB First Choice: You must have chosen AE-FUNAI as your first-choice institution. Candidates who did not initially select AE-FUNAI but wish to apply can still do so by effecting a change of institution/course on the JAMB portal.
- O’ Level Credits: You need at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO or their equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. For Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, you must obtain your O’Level results in one sitting.
- JAMB CAPS: You must ensure that your O’Level and Direct Entry results are uploaded on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
How to Apply
The application process is straightforward and can be completed online. Follow these steps to submit your application successfully:
Submit and Print: Submit your application and print out your acknowledgment slip for your records.
Visit the University Website: Go to the official AE-FUNAI website.
Access the Admissions Portal: Click on “ADMISSIONS” in the top menu or quick links and select either 2025/2026 UTME Admission Screening or 2025/2026 Direct Entry Admission Screening.
Generate RRR: Enter your JAMB registration number to generate your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Number.
Pay the Fee: Pay the non-refundable processing fee of N2,000 at any bank.
Complete the Form: Return to the application page, enter your JAMB registration number again, and complete the form with all the required information.

This is to let everyone know, especially those who want to join the Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State through PUTME or Direct Entry, that the deadline for the 2025/2026 online screening, has been extended.
It will now close on Monday, 30th September, 2025.
The extension was made because many people needed more time to upload their O’Level results on JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

Payment and Registration Procedure
Eligible candidates must pay a processing fee of N2,000. Follow these steps to apply:
- To begin your application, visit the AE-FUNAI website and navigate to the Admissions menu. From there,
- click on the link for either the 2025/2026 UTME Admission Screening or the 2025/2026 Direct Entry Admission Screening, depending on your application type.
- You will then be prompted to enter your JAMB Registration Number and click “LOGIN.”
- Next, select your payment mode to generate your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number,
- and proceed to any bank to make the payment.
- After paying, return to the application page, re-enter your JAMB Registration Number,
- and complete the form.
- Finally, submit your application and
- print out the acknowledgment slip for your record
Mode of Screening
The 2025/2026 academic session screening will involve internal screening of candidates’ results. There will be no computer-based test (CBT).
