Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission into UNIMED’s undergraduate programmes, you must meet the following criteria:

  • JAMB First Choice: You must have chosen UNIMED as your first-choice institution in the 2025 UTME. Candidates who did not initially select UNIMED but wish to apply can still do so by effecting a change of institution on the JAMB portal.
  • O’ Level Credits: You need at least five (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO or their equivalent, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • Age Requirement: You must be 16 years of age or older at the time of application.

How to Apply

Eligibility

The following outlines the core admission requirements for prospective students at UNIMED.

UTME Requirements

Only candidates who selected “Ondo State University of Medical Sciences” as their first choice in the 2025 UTME and scored 150 or above are eligible to apply. However, candidates willing to change their first choice to UNIMED are also encouraged to do so and apply.

General Academic Requirements

All applicants must have a minimum of five credits in WAEC, NECO, or GCE O’ Level, including English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects, in not more than two sittings. A crucial exception applies to Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, and Doctor of Physiotherapy candidates, who must obtain these credits in one sitting.

Direct Entry Requirements

Direct Entry requirement for Direct Entry student: Direct Entry candidates who have chosen UNIMED as their first choice are eligible to apply, provided they meet the specified requirements. This includes a minimum of ten points in ‘A’ level certificates or a B.Sc. (Hons) Degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) or a National Diploma in Basic Medical or Basic Science subjects with at least Lower Credit.

All Direct Entry candidates must ensure their official academic transcripts are sent directly to the Registrar, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo. Transcripts can be submitted via email to transcripts@unimed.edu.ng or by courier service to the university’s official address.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

All courses require English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. For Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or Computer Science, the combination is English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
