State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS) Post UTME Update

The State University of Medical and Applied Sciences (SUMAS), Igbo-Eno, Enugu State, is inviting applications for its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The screening will be conducted online (no physical exam).

2. Eligibility Criteria

A. UTME Candidates

  1. UTME Score: Must have scored 150 or above in the 2025 JAMB UTME.
  2. First Choice: Must have chosen SUMAS as your First Choice institution. If you did not, you must perform a Change of Institution to SUMAS on the JAMB CAPS portal before applying.
  3. O’Level Results:
    • Possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credit passes in relevant subjects (including English Language and Mathematics).
    • For Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and Doctor of Pharmacy (D.Pharm), the five credits must be obtained in one (1) sitting.
    • For all other programmes, not more than two (2) sittings are allowed.
  4. JAMB CAPS: You MUST upload your O’Level results (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB) to your JAMB CAPS profile. Failure to do this will disqualify you from admission.

B. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

  • Must have chosen SUMAS as your First Choice during the 2025 JAMB Direct Entry registration.
  • Must possess an acceptable qualification (A’ Level, OND, HND, NCE, etc.) in a relevant field and follow the same application procedure as UTME candidates.

3. Step-by-Step Application Procedure

The application process for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates involves payment and online registration.

Step 1: Pay the Application Fee

  1. Pay the non-refundable screening fee of to the following bank account:
    • Account Name: SUMAS SCREENING AND APPLICATION
    • Account Number: 1226931156
    • Bank Name: ZENITH BANK PLC

Step 2: Access the Application Portal

  1. Go to the official SUMAS application portal
  2. Click on the “Apply” button.

Step 3: Complete the Online Form

  1. Carefully fill in all the required information in the application form, including your:
    • Personal details.
    • JAMB registration number and scores.
    • O’Level results and sittings.
  2. Upload the following documents (ensure they are clear and in the required format, typically PDF):
    • Evidence of payment (#2000 teller or receipt).
    • JAMB UTME Result Slip.
    • O’Level Certificates (WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB).
    • Birth Certificate.
    • Certificate of Origin (if available).
    • Recent Passport Photograph (on a white or red background).

Step 4: Submit and Print

  1. Review all the information provided to ensure accuracy.
  2. Click the “Apply for Post UTME” (or appropriate submission) button to submit your application.
  3. Print out the acknowledgement slip as proof of registration.
