The management of the Federal University, Gashua (FUGASHUA), Yobe State, has officially announced the commencement of the Online Screening Exercise for admission into its undergraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.
This is a crucial alert for all Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) candidates who chose FUGASHUA as their institution of first choice. Below is the comprehensive guide to the eligibility criteria, the step-by-step application process, and key deadlines.
Eligibility Criteria for Screening
Only candidates who meet the specified requirements are eligible to participate in the online screening exercise.
1. UTME Candidates (Post-UTME)
- Institution Choice: Must have chosen Federal University, Gashua (FUGASHUA) as their First Choice Institution in the 2025 UTME.
- UTME Score: Candidates must meet the minimum approved UTME cut-off marks:
- General Cut-off Mark: 150 and above.
- Specific Programmes:
- Biochemistry, Computer Science, Microbiology: 170 and above.
- Biology: 160 and above.
2. Direct Entry (DE) Candidates
- Institution Choice: Must have chosen FUGASHUA as their First Choice Institution for Direct Entry.
- Minimum Qualifications: Must possess any of the following qualifications:
- NCE: Distinction, Credit, or Merit.
- IJMB: Minimum of 6 points and above.
- National Diploma (ND): Upper Credit and above.
- Higher National Diploma (HND): Lower Credit and above.
3. General O’Level Requirements (Both UTME & DE)
- All candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) relevant credit passes in SSCE (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, etc.) at not more than two (2) sittings.
- The credit passes must include English Language and Mathematics.

Step-by-Step Application Procedure
The entire application process is conducted online via the FUGASHUA admission portal. Follow these steps carefully:
Step 1: Account Creation (Registration)
- Visit the official FUGASHUA application portal
- Click on “Register” or “New Application” to create an account.
- Fill the opened form with your details:
- JAMB number
- First name, Surname
- Choose Entry Mode (UTME/DE)
- Email Address (This will serve as your Username)
- Create a strong password (must contain Uppercase and numbers).
- Click “Register Account.”
Step 2: Email Confirmation and Payment
- A confirmation link will be sent to the email address you provided. Click on the link to confirm your email.
- You will be redirected to the payment page. You have two payment options for the ₦2,000 screening fee:
- Bank Payment: Click the “Pay Icon,” print the invoice (RRR invoice), and pay at any commercial bank.
- ATM/Card Payment: Click the “Pay Icon,” select your card type (MasterCard, Verve, etc.), enter your phone number, card details, and submit the OTP number sent to your phone for authentication.
Step 3: Log In and Complete Registration
- After successful payment, go back to the portal and log in using your Username (Email Address/JAMB Number) and the Password you created.
- Course Selection: You will be redirected to the course selection page. Provide details of your:
- UTME First Choice
- UTME Second Choice
- UTME Subject Combination
- UTME Score
Step 4: Biodata and O’Level Details
- Biodata Form: Fill out the biodata form completely. Upload a recent passport photograph with a plain background (JPEG format, not more than 50kb). Save and click next.
- O’Level Results: Provide details of your Five (5) relevant O’level credit passes, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
- Awaiting Results (AR): If you are awaiting results, you can submit the form and return later to update the O’Level results on the portal. However, you must ensure that your complete results are uploaded to the JAMB CAPS before the final admission list is prepared.
- Previous Institutions (for DE): Direct Entry candidates must provide details of all previous institutions attended with the qualifications and grades obtained (ND, HND, NCE, IJMB, etc.).
Step 5: Document Upload and Submission
- You will be redirected to the documents upload page. Upload scanned copies of all your relevant certificates and results.
- Finally, click “Submit” and confirm the submission.
- A message, “Application Submitted Successfully, It Cannot Be Altered. Thanks,” will be displayed. You should print a copy of your application form for reference.
Note: FUGASHUA may invite shortlisted candidates for physical screening or an aptitude test at a future date, which will be communicated via the official university website and/or SMS/Email.
